I don't think I sent mine, btw am I supposed to receive a credit report or do I figure that out myself? Sorry I've been pretty busy with moving to the US so I haven't been paying much attention.

On the stat thread you have a list of nations with their "base production". I think you signed on for South America so looking at it you got:Pelarys wrote:I don't think I sent mine, btw am I supposed to receive a credit report or do I figure that out myself? 900e+200r per turn
Plus
1 Antimatter Plant in Bolivia provides 500 energy per turn
So you would have 1400e+200r. This is how much you have available per turn- I don't recall if it rolls over into the next turn or not for your unused material but you should generally go by your production for how much you have to work with.
You can look at the actions you can do here:
http://www.omniverseone.com/forum/viewt ... =30&t=1310
Actions can range from construction of certain buildings in your nation that'll help boost your energy and resource income, building military units, taking certain diplomatic and covert actions, and so on. Each of these cost a differing amount of resources and energy. You have a maximum of five actions per turn.
And the different units you can construct here:
http://www.omniverseone.com/forum/viewt ... =30&t=1308
http://www.omniverseone.com/forum/viewt ... =30&t=1305

http://www.omniverseone.com/forum/viewt ... =30&t=1307
http://www.omniverseone.com/forum/viewt ... =30&t=1345
Note the upkeep on units. This is how much they'll take up when they are deployed.
I recommend you use excel or some similar spreadsheet program to keep track of what you do each turn and what you currently have, as well as an easy way to calculate your resource and energy income.
Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
You're supposed to do it yourself, generally so far I have trusted players to do this but occasionally I will check for myself.Pelarys wrote:I don't think I sent mine, btw am I supposed to receive a credit report or do I figure that out myself? I'm planning to do the next turn around Sunday/Monday.
They also have an MCF plant in Bolivia and a Borehole Mine in Minas Gerais.Red Commissar wrote:On the stat thread you have a list of nations with their "base production". I think you signed on for South America so looking at it you got:

Energy is a constant, players get the same amount every turn unless one has built additional power plants in the previous turn. Any leftover Resources roll over into the next turn.So you would have 1400e+200r. This is how much you have available per turn- I don't recall if it rolls over into the next turn or not for your unused material but you should generally go by your production for how much you have to work with.
It is also not an exhaustive list. If there's something you want to do which isn't listed, bring it up with me publicly in this thread or privately via PM, whichever you think is more suitable. You can look at the actions you can do here:

Actually, upkeep applies from the creation of the unit until it is destroyed or disbanded, even if it doing nothing - that's what upkeep means in this game. Deploying them in foreign/non-allied territory will cost an additional 1 Resources and 5 Energy per turn for each unit deployed, this represents the cost of supporting units in hostile territory. And the different units you can construct here:

Sorry if that wasn't entirely clear.

Hey all.
As you may have all noticed I have not been that active on the game recently. My grandma died last month and only now am I starting to feel well enough to start writing and playing the game again. For the last month I have been in no real mood to play nor did I have the creative state of mind to even write but I think I am now starting to move on from that.
I have sent my turn in for the coming year (2149) and look forward to seeing the game get back on track again.

Are we still waiting on people to get their turns in?
Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
Dunno, I sent my turn in a while back.

I don't think there's a particular user holding up the turn, just Nox needs to take some time to whip up a report.
I guess in the mean time I'll throwout something in the rp thread.

Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
Sorry everyone, I've been meaning to do the turn but kept getting distracted. I'm definitely aiming to get it done today.
Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
Still working on the turn, I'm trying to put a bit more effort into it this time round.
Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
I'd like to do the turn for 2150 tonight/this morning, although I haven't heard back from Pelarys. The rest of us are good to go, however.

Hey all, sorry I haven't been posting in the game thread lately. I've hit a creative dead end for the last couple of weeks. It'll pass, but I just wanted to let y'all know that I'm still following the game and contributing to the turns.

No worries, we're still on the same turn.Le Socialiste wrote:Hey all, sorry I haven't been posting in the game thread lately. I've hit a creative dead end for the last couple of weeks. It'll pass, but I just wanted to let y'all know that I'm still following the game and contributing to the turns.
Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
Yeah, sorry about the lack of a new turn recently, I've just been at a dead end with regards to the situation in the East African Alliance. Whenever I try to fit the pieces together (i.e. try to work out how the players actions will interact and the likely results of that) I just hit a mental brick wall. If any of you want to help that would be appreciated, but I'd like to clear it with everyone else beforehand because it will reveal who's involved.
Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
I'm chill with it. Dunno if I want to be the one to help and know everything, but I wouldn't mind if the beans on my end were spilled.

Heretic: Your last post in the game thread says the Cameroon Pact and Nanotopia are Extropian technocracies, but I'm not sure they are. Maybe they are, I don't know. Noxion, what do you think? Where does the Pact and Nanotopia fall in the Preservationist-Extropian-NeoSocialist divide? I've wondered this myself...
Edit - Looks like things are heating up again in the good ole' EAA.

Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
I always thought they were a sort of Extropian Nationalist who despite having the technology, maintain a more preservationist mentality. I'm trying to reach out to Marispatrian-unfriendly polities that might help buffer the world some more
Indeed, I think the EAA is starting to become a sort of political playground where we all fight each other in secret schemings. Let's just hope it doesn't end with the EAA area turning into a big crater lol

Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
The Cameroon Pact aren't Extropian, their attitude to transhumanism is much different. Whereas Extropians tend to view it in the frame of civil, social and individual liberty, the Cameroon Pact take a utilitarian-instrumentalist position geared towards maintaining state interests. Transhuman modifications are advantageous and non-humans are frequently found in powerful positions, but loyalty to the state is considered more important than one's phenotype.
The Nanotopia I've always imagined as something unique, what with being a self-evolving rogue nanoswarm that has developed into a Genius Loci of sorts, that along the way realised that acting like the stereotypical "grey goo" would only make things more difficult for itself.

Oh, for fuck's sake, now imgur is saying I can't have more than 255 images visible. 2$ a month might well be a bargain but unfortunately I have more important things to spend my money on, like food and utilities.
Anyone got any suggestions for alternative image hosts? I've already maxed out my Photobucket and ImageShack accounts, would Tumblr be any use for my purposes?
I could still use imgur, but it will mean older pictures will start disappearing, and I'd rather avoid that if I can.

Would it be possible to make a secondary account or something?

I could do that. I have a secondary email address I could use to register another account. If no alternatives present themselves, that's probably what I'll end up doing.

What are the Cythereans? I don't remember hearing much of them before, most I can gather from the turn report is that they're people adapted to Venus's conditions.
Re: Nova Mundi: 2100+ roll-call/discussion thread [OOC]
That's right. They have their origins in the 21st century, when terraformation of the planet Venus seemed like a distant, unachievable dream, and the word of the day was Pantropy. Most of them are heavily genetically engineered humans, although gengineered hybrids and specially-constructed mechanoids are not uncommon in Cytherean society, along with a handful of neogens (completely new organisms genetically encoded from scratch), parahumans (humans hybridised with non-animal organisms, in this case including creatures from deep-sea vents, due to their ability to deal with extreme pressure and heat) and specially-constructed bionoids. Maat Mons Underground City has the largest concentration of Cythereans on Venus, but their adaptations have enabled them to establish a number of small independent homesteads and townlets scattered across the surface of Venus, although the aborted terraformation of the planet has meant that some settlements at higher elevations have been long abandoned.Red Commissar wrote:What are the Cythereans? I've been meaning to write an article on the various phenotypes of the 22nd century, perhaps that can be the next bit of background to be posted up in the forum. Watch this space!
